LAS VEGAS, NV (February 2018) – The National Center for Women and Information in Technology Las Vegas Affiliate is hosting a Sit with Me event on February 28th, 2018 at The Space, located at 3460 Cavaretta Ct, Las Vegas, NV 89103 from 5:30pm-7:30pm.
Paige Lyon, CIO at Affinity Gaming, will be the featured speaker. Paige is the new Vice President of IT and CIO at Affinity Gaming, where she is responsible for driving the implementation of large scale IT-related initiatives for the gaming company and its 11 casinos located in Nevada, Colorado, Missouri and Iowa.
Paige is passionate about technology, our Las Vegas community and values what the iconic RED Chair symbolizes. She strives to be a force for women in technology and will sit in the RED Chair to reinforce that women in technology need more seats at the table, that men and women can sit in support and solidarity for technical women and values that one highly visible action can instigate others.
About Sit with Me Sit With Me is a national advocacy campaign designed to encourage women in computing careers. This event seeks to highlight the critical nature of women’s technical contributions by providing an event for people (men and women, technical and non-technical) to acknowledge the valuable contributions of women in computing. Sit With Me uses an iconic RED Chair to symbolize that women in technology need more seats at the table, that men and women can sit in support and solidarity for technical women, and that one highly visible action can instigate others.
