I’m Lucky

.

I’m Lucky.
You can’t see my pain.
If you look closely, you can see it in my tribe.

…In the way my Jay built me an ergonomic desk (for the nerve pain).
…In the way my kids give me gentle high-fives (#InstaMom).
…In the way that Strauss talks me off the ledge in the middle of a work day (for the anxiety).
…In the way Heather pops my soda tops (Sprite for the constant nausea).
…In the way Amber opens my sugar packets for my coffee (for the insomnia).
…In the way RhondaK massages my hands (for the numbness).
…In the way Jennifer talks me through panic attacks (for the imposter syndrome).
…In the way Tori sings to my soul (“This one’s for Christina”).
…In the way Nancy reminds me to be nicer to myself (“Pls tell yourself the truth in the kindest way possible”).

I’m Lucky.
You can’t see my pain.
If you look closely, you can see it in my declining activity.

…In the 18-hour days in bed (“Maybe I need an anti-depressant”).
…In the cancelled appointments (“Maybe I need a neurologist”).
…In the numbness of my hands (“Maybe I need surgery”).
…In the five more pounds I lost this week (“Maybe I just need less fiber”).
…In the weakness in my knees (“Maybe I just need to go to the gym more”).
…In the 4-lb bags of epsom salts (“Maybe I just need more osmosis”).

I’m Lucky.
I’m a Digital Advertising Consultant.
I know how to “use the Google.” Lol.
An extensive google search led me to the most wonderful info about Vitamin B12 deficiency:

  • Weakness
  • Confusion
  • Anxiety
  • Digestive Issues
  • Chronic Nerve Pain
  • Low Iron
  • Numbness and Tingling

I’m Lucky.
I’ve solved another piece of the puzzle today that is Christina’s Life.
While I may not have all the pieces (and let’s be honest, I may never have all of the pieces to the puzzle), I am so much closer to living my best life, given the hand I was dealt (and really, isn’t that all anyone can ask?).
I won’t need a neurologist.
I won’t need carpal tunnel surgery.
I won’t need anti-depressants.

Turns out, I just need to eat more liver (Dammit, Peter Pinto. I hate it when you’re right).
It’s St. Patrick’s Day.
I’m not Irish.
I’m not Catholic.
But I’m a Luckygirl.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day, everyone!

May you feel as LOVED as I feel, by your tribe.
May you feel GRATEFUL as I feel, for your health.
May you feel as PASSIONATE as I feel, about your work.
May you feel as LUCKY as I feel, about the hand you were dealt.
