12th Annual CodeMash Conference is to be held in Sandusky, OH

SANDUSKY, Ohio – Dec. 21, 2017 – PRLog — International speaker, trainer, and digital advertising consultant Christina Aldan announces her appearance at the 2018 CodeMash where she will be doing her talk on “Fearing the Robot Overlords” as a breakout session and her “Unleashing Your Creativity” training workshop. The event takes place at the Kalahari Resort in Sandusky, Ohio January 9th-12th, 2018.

Fearing the Robot Overlords is a talk that reminds us to lean into more of what makes us human; characteristics like empathy and compassion. It is about how we irrationally fear robot overlords as we do vampires and any other supernatural beings that go bump in the night. Many people worry that their intelligence will take our jobs, our livelihood, our freedom, and enslave us to do their bidding. Christina reminds us that this is not to be our future. We need not fear a hostile robot takeover. We can celebrate Artificial Intelligence as our greatest accomplishment, and harness it for the tool that it really is. Christina’s talk addresses our relationship with computers as tools and how we should allow computers to do the work, so people can do the innovating.

Unleashing Your Creativity is a training workshop that has been taught internationally. Using creative techniques, we can gain insight into what motivates us and unleash our creative potential for problem-solving and for content creation. For innovation to flourish organizations must create an environment that fosters creativity. It is about bringing together multi-talented groups of people who work in close collaboration together exchanging knowledge, ideas and shaping the direction of the future. In this training, participants will learn that creativity is a skill you can develop with practice and a process you can manage. Some other topics covered in this creativity workshop are to understand the dynamics of creative work, the most common pitfalls and how they affect teams, learn to identify and eliminate the things that stop creativity, and discover specific, everyday practices that lead to long-term effectiveness. Attendees will discover the natural capacity for creativity through a range of hands-on activities that will appeal to both sides of your brain. Students will experiment with ideation tools that supersede traditional brainstorming in a fun, inspiring action-filled environment.

“We’re extremely excited for the 2018 CodeMash Conference. This will be the twelfth consecutive year for the event, which is held at the Kalahari Resort and Convention Center in Sandusky Ohio, Said Jason Follas, Sponsorship Coordinator and Vice President, Board of Directors. “While we still cater largely to the Ohio and Michigan developer community, the event has grown in size and attracts thousands of attendees, speakers, and sponsors from across the United States and around the world. CodeMash is also proud to host a conference-within-a-conference that is targeted for kids of all ages. Kidzmash provides STEM-related content and activities at no cost for any family members who may have traveled to the event with a CodeMash attendee.”

It’s not just about a grind of sessions, but also providing attendees the opportunity of continuing the conversations. As well as the potential of networking outside of the daily conference events. CodeMash’s goal has always been to achieve this mission by creating a conference environment that focuses on professionalism and respect for one another.
